Dr. Nicholas Vitale graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Originally wanting to study disease, he started a residency in anatomic pathology at Cornell University. After finding out that his long-term career goals didn’t match with pathology, he moved back to Michigan and practiced small animal medicine for a year before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. He stayed in Vegas for three and a half years, learning and practicing advanced veterinary medicine on both companion and exotic animals. Missing his immediate growing family, he decided to move back home to Michigan and brought advanced medical procedures to Southeastern Michigan. He joined Wilson Veterinary hospital in 2019.
Dr. Vitale’s main areas of interest are all aspects of surgery, soft tissue, orthopedic, minimally invasive, as well as advanced diagnostic techniques such as laparoscopy and endoscopy. Additionally, he is very well-versed in reproductive medicine.
In June 2021, Dr. Vitale became a partner at Wilson Veterinary Hospital. He oversees the major functioning of the reproduction and surgery departments.
When Dr. Vitale is not at the hospital with patients or doing surgery, he enjoys spending time with his French bulldog, Bodhi, two cats, Gracie and Gordie, gardening, gourmet cooking, and working on his historic, 92-year-old home.
